| One of the great pleasures of our hunting partnership has been making
new friends along the way. It's especially great when we can "hook up"
with other parent/child hunting partnerships. We've been very fortunate in
that these new friendships are not just between the kids, but between the
parents also. Our new friendships are already being woven into new hunting "traditions" - special trips we look forward to as a group. Here are pictures and stories from some of them: Chris and his dad Quinn. Martin and Chris discovered in school that they both love to hunt and fish. They've never looked back!
The boys have spent countless hours fishing together (with or without their parents) and hunting (with us, of course...) Here's a photo from a great outing at the public fishing pier in Edmonds, WA:
Dove season has become a tradition for the four of us...
After getting skunked many times going after geese, the boys finally connected: a couple of snow geese and a couple more Canadas...
Deer season was another group trip for Chris, Quinn, Martin and Luke. We hunted near Winthrop in north central Washinton - an "any deer" season for kids under 16. Chris came home with the prize that time - a mature doe that yielded 90 pounds of wrapped meat; that's a big doe!
Jason and his dad John. We got to know John and his son Jason after John happened on a link to this web page. Cool - that was exactly what we hoped would happen! It turns out that John and Jason live not very far from Seattle, and we set up a hunting trip right away to get to know each other. Looks like we've found great new friends!
We weren't able to match schedules for a group deer trip in 2002, so John and Jason went the week after Chris, Quinn, Martin and I had gone. But they came home just as successful - look at Jason's beautiful deer, his second in two years!
... and more to come, we hope!
